Turn the electricity produced by the hand generator into a powerful electromagnet with the Electromagnet Coil Set. This great hands-on device lets students see the properties of an electromagnet in action. Students determine how the strength of an electromagnet is affected by the number of turns in the coil and by the nature of the material inserted into the coil. Includes one 200-turn coil, one 100-turn coil and 4 different cores: aluminum, copper, glass and iron. The electromagnet coils can also be used with a 6V battery. Coils measure 48 mm x 17 mm diameter; cores measure 55 mm x 5 mm diameter.
